Step 3: Adding Transitions and Effects

Go to the Tools menu and click on Transitions. This will take you to the Transitions screen in the main window. Transitions effect how each picture will change into the next picture during your show. Some common transitions are when your pictures fade in or slide in to the screen.
Choose some transitions that you like and drag and drop into the squares in between your pictures. To test how they will look, simply press the play button above the storyboard or in the movie window.

For effects, select the Effects option from the pull-down menu and view the clips that will show you how the effect will look. Effects mostly change how we get to see that one particular picture. Common effects include fading in from black or white.
When you’ve found one you want, then drag and drop the effect on top of the picture in the large Storyboard boxes.
Experiment until you have made the show look the way you want to. (Hint: Use the Fade Transition in between your pictures to make things seem less choppy)
